National College of Art and Design, Dublin

This acrylic on canvas was painted in a quiet corner of the National College of Art and Design, Dublin (NCAD). I also refer to this piece as “King of My Castle” due to the pink graffiti on the white door which you can just about make out. This viewpoint also allowed me to focus the viewer's attention using light and shadow.

I selected this part of the NCAD campus because it offered angles that lend themselves well to an absorbing perspective that almost draws you in. I loved the interplay between the different lines that run throughout the picture, and I went to great lengths to make these stand out.
